On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Full elections have three phases and an optional fourth phase (Primary):

  1. Question Collection
  2. Nomination
  3. Primary
  4. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

Hi, y'all. I'm Mithical, and I'm throwing my hat in the ring.

As an established moderator on Literature.SE, I have experience with the mod tools and policies and can "hit the ground running", so to speak. I'm experienced in handling the occasionally delicate situations that mods are expected to take care of, and with the behavior expected of a moderator.

I'm fairly familiar with Constructed Languages as a site - I'm within the top ten users by reputation, and I've been hanging around since private beta (which, to be fair, is when most of my posts are from). I'm less familiar with constructed languages when it comes to the languages itself, but I don't think anyone is expecting mod messages in Sindarin :)

I believe that I'd be able to do a decent job here for the moderation tasks required, and I hope that my record will speak for itself in that regard.

---

Hello, I'm anonymous2, a moderator pro-tem on the Internet of Things stack exchange since 2017, and a recently elected moderator pro-tem on the Drones stack exchange. For those who don't recognize my username, I was previously rotaredom. There being only one candidate so far, I'm more than happy to throw my hat in the ring.

Pros:

  • An experienced moderator

  • Very high availability (typically I'm on from 8h - 20h EST / UTC-5)

  • Relaxed, even-tempered personality

  • Linguistics enthusiast

Cons:

  • Haven't been super active on the site lately

Given that both sites I moderate are also in beta, moderation tasks take relatively little daily time, allowing me plenty of time to devote to this site. If you have any questions, by all means, please drop me a message.

Ai-menu duzhuk!

Victor VosMottor

I believe I can become a mod here because

  • I'm interested in this community

  • I have enough time to do moderation tasks

Indeed, what else does a mod need? XD

This election is over.
